What is Meditation? Meditation is a precise technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is totally different from the normal waking state. It is the means for fathoming all the levels of ourselves and finally experiencing the centre of consciousness within. Kundalini Meditation and mindfulness meditation works best for me. Meditation helps me with having a heightened level of awareness, especially with my thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Other then for the practice of meditation, there is no method to develop control over the totality of the mind truly. The goal of meditation is to go beyond the mind and experience our essential nature—which is described as profound love, peace, happiness, and bliss. An important part of meditation is an awareness of our thoughts and feelings as they happen from moment to moment. It’s about allowing ourselves to feel the present moment profoundly and clearly. When we do that, it can positively change the way we see ourselves and our lives. Becoming more aware of the present moment can help us enjoy the world around us more and understand ourselves better. When we become more aware of the present moment, we begin to experience afresh things that we have been taking for granted. Mindfulness also allows us to become more aware of the stream of thoughts and feelings that we experience, and to observe how we can become entangled in that stream in ways that are not helpful. It lets us stand back from our thoughts and start to see their patterns. Gradually, we can train ourselves to notice when our thoughts are taking over and realise that thoughts are simply ‘mental events’ that do not have to control us. Awaking your innate power Kundalini Energy This innate power found inside all of us is called Kundalini. It has been called many names, but they are speaking about the same thing. Every spiritual tradition has its name for Kundalini – Holy Spirit, Grace, Shekhinah, Anima, Chi, Bodhicitta- and every saint and mystic has known Her blessing.
